Peace of mind and safety at every stage.
Your specific journey may slightly differ from what's laid out here, but this is a good overview of what to expect.
Every New Me patient's journey starts with a doctor's referral. Ask your doctor about weight loss surgery options or pre-fill our referral form and bring it in with you to your appointment.
Once you have your referral, call or email us to book an appointment. From there we'll decide together what the best course of action is.
Every New Me patient has a gastroscopy and blood tests so that there's no surprises when it comes to surgery.
We'll assess your current food habits, outline your pre-surgery diet and create a plan for what you'll eat after the surgery is complete.
There's a lot of benefits to seeing a mental health professional during this process. If you're interested, talk to us before or after your surgery and we'll connect you with a psychologist.
We use a Dexa Scan to determine your body composition (muscle / fat / bone density, etc.) before surgery so that you can compare it with how much you've improved 6 months after surgery.
We'll discuss the specifics of the surgery and book in a surgery date that suits you.
We operate at St. John of God Hospital, Murdoch Hospital or Subiaco Hospital. You can choose whichever suits you best.
You'll receive multiple dietician follow-ups after your surgery to keep you on track during your weight loss journey.
You'll have a follow-up appointment to discuss your progress at 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and a year after your surgery.
